PAC MateFreedom Scientific's Pac Mate Omni provides either Braille or Qwerty input through its BX and QX models respectively. You may also purchase the Pac Mate with a 20 or 40 cell Braille Display which is easily attachable and removable and may be connected through USB to other devices such as your PC to provide Braille output for those devices. The Pac Mate provides speech and Braille output through a pocket version of Jaws for Windows specifically designed to work with the Windows Mobile operating system. Pac Mate comes loaded with pocket versions of familiar Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, Calendar, Outlook, Inbox, Contacts, Internet Explorer, and Windows Media Player. You may also choose to install off-the-shelf applications for Windows Mobile that can be accessed through the keyboard using Active Sync. Several add-ons are also available from Freedom Scientific including a Bar Code Reader, GPS solution, and Daisy Book reading software.
